Spain is a country in southwestern Europe. It is a country with very different cultures, languages, eating habits and climates. Spain started minting euro coins in 1999.
The Spanish euro coins have three different designs. The design of the 1 and 2 euro cent coins feature the portrait of King Juan Carolos I.
In 2015, the portrait on the 1 and 2 euro coins was changed to that of the new King Felipe VI following his father's abdication the previous year.
