Malta is a small country located in the Mediterranean Sea. The country consists of three islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino. Malta joined the euro zone in 2008.
The Maltese euro coins feature three different designs. Because Malta doesn't have a mint of their own, the coins are minted abroad.
