The first major update of Coinection is here, with lots of new features available for all collectors. In this article you'll read all about the new features that are part of this update. With this update of Coinection, collecting becomes more social. The main goal of Coinection is to bring collectors together to expand their collection through the connections that are created. So after our first release, which allows you to manage your collection, our number one priority was to add social features.
We're proud to introduce the timeline. This is where interaction between users takes place. The timeline shows also automatic messages for activities that take place in Coinection. For example, it will show a post when you add coins to your collection or wishlist or when you become friends with another user. You can interact with posts, for example liking it or leaving a reply to share the excitement of your friend adding a rare commemorative coin to their collection!
You can also share your posts outside Coinection. A public link is generated for the post, which you can share online. In future releases, we will extend the types of posts you can create (for example a special "coin hunt" post).
As part of our goal to bring collectors together, we're now making it possible for you to add friends. To look for a user, search for their name via the search option. From the user profile, you can send a friendship request. The receiver can choose to accept or deny the request. After the request is accepted, the posts of that user will now appear on your timeline.
We've also added referrals, so you can invite your friends to join Coinection as well! In future releases, we'll share more on this referral system (but be sure to know we're tracking your referrals already).
We've updated the user profile, which now shows your timeline and friends. When you visit the profile of another user, you can see their timeline or collection as well.
We're introducing new privacy settings, which allows you to control what other users can or cannot see, and how they interact with you. These privacy settings will be reflected everywhere in Coinection. Also, you can now also choose where you want to be redirected to when you log in (for example: direct to collection, or to timeline).
If you like Coinection but you feel you're missing certain features, please let us know by leaving a feature request!
