Devlog: Release 4.1

In the past months we've added some small new features to Coinection, making it an even more complete platform for Euro coin collectors.

Purchase price

We added some new options you can chose to enter when you manage your collection. The first one is purchase price, with which you can keep track of how much you paid for a coin (for example if you bought it from a mint, or a secondary reseller). The second option is to track whether the coin is in a coincard. Many new coins are sold both in a coincard and without one. Now you can track this in Coinection as well!

Like a coin

You can now show appreciation for a specific coin, for example if you like the design of the Belgian 2021 commemorative coin about ESRO-2B. Simply click the "Thumbs up" next to the image! You can also see an overview all the coins on your liked coins page.

We added some tools to Coinection that can help you with your collection.

Euro coin release calendar

With the introduction of the Euro coin release calendar, we've made it easier to track when new coins are due to be released. We're using the data provided via Open Coin Data and via the national banks. Whenever a release date is uncertain, we're indicating this based on month or quarter (whatever is known at the time).

Mint mark locator

Another tool we added is the mint mark locator. Some countries issue coins with a mint mark, most notably Germany and Greece. With the mint mark locator, you can easily find out where the mint mark you are looking for can be found on the coin.
