Slovenia is a country in central Europe on the southern edge of the Alps. The country is densely wooded and mountainous. Slovenia joined the euro area in 2007.

The Slovenian euro coins each feature unique designs. The €2 and €1 coins depict famous Slovenians (the poet France Prešeren and writer Primož Trubar), the 50 cent coin shows Mount Triglav (Slovenia's highest peak), the 20 cent coin displays two Lipizzaner horses and the 10 cent coin features local architect Jože Plečnik's unrealised plan for the Slovenian Parliament. The 5, 2 and 1 cent coins show important symbols from Slovenia's heritage.
